The Centre for Innovations and Professional Skills Development (CiPSD) through its community outreach programme trained one hundred SME entrepreneurs with basic ICT skills. The one week training gave entrepreneurs the skills to use a computer, tablet or mobile phone for everyday usage of digital technologies like sending emails, browsing the internet etc.

The objective of the training according to the trainer (Mr. Lonard Muhwezi) is to create awareness of ICT and its benefits, enhance individual creativity of the entrepreneurs, and promote the use of ICT within surrounding the community. The entrepreneurs comprised of tailors, hairdressers, carpenters, mechanics etc. The training was so successful that some participants have enrolled for other short courses on offer at CiPSD like the certificate in Computer Applications.
