The College of Computing and IS received the visit of a delegation from the Romanian Cluj Cluster, accompanied by the Romanian Ambassador H.E. Ms. Julia Pataki and the Romanian Honorary Consul H.E. Mr. Murungi Gordon on the Tuesday, 3rd Dec 2019. Cluj IT Cluster is a representative association of the Romanian IT industry, comprising of seventy-five (75) IT companies and nine (9) Universities.

The discussion covered the presentations of the participating parties’ i.e. the activities and roles of the College in the IT education and research sectors, its strategic role in the development of the Uganda IT industry, and the technical innovations in the country. Cluj IT Cluster expressed their interest in supporting the College as a partner in research projects and technology transfer initiatives. This partnership would foster the development of bilateral relations between the IT specialized academic sectors from Romania and Uganda and to develop programs for experience exchange at student, doctoral and College level. And they also donate some office furniture to this college like some standing desk, chairs, TV.
