AI in African Health Conference – 28th November, 2024

AI IN AFRICAN HEALTH CONFERENCE

Makerere University College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health is inviting you to the AI in African Health Conference scheduled to take place on 28th November 2028 from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala.

CoCIS hosts the Health Intelligence Lab. This lab has evolved while facilitating multi-disciplinary research in Health Intelligence since its official launch on 30th May 2024. This is done in line with promoting the research agenda of the University towards being a research-led institution. This lab embodies the work being done by various teams in partnership /support with various entities in Uganda and beyond such as Google, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Carnegie Mellon, Mediterranean institute Under Lacuna fund, SIDA,  Uganda Cancer Institute(UCI), Mulago Regional Referral hospital, Kiruddu Referral hospital, among others.

The Conference will convene key stakeholders from the healthcare sector, AI technology experts, policymakers, and innovators to explore and discuss practical strategies for integrating AI solutions into our country’s healthcare system. The event aims to build a collaborative ecosystem that will harness the power of AI to improve healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiencies and will feature exhibitions of cutting-edge AI-enabled health solutions, panel discussions, and interactive sessions designed to foster dialogue and partnerships among stakeholders.

The function will be presided over by among others the Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon . Chris Baryomunsi, the Permanent Sectary Dr. Aminah Zawedde, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Dianah Atwine and the Vice Chancellor Makerere University Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe.
